Family Service Agency is the Area Agency on Aging serving San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We connect older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities with information, programs, and community resources.
Our work is rooted in FSA’s longstanding commitment to supporting people and strengthening communities on the Central Coast.
Our mission
Our mission is to maintain and improve the quality of life for older adults living in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We achieve this by funding, coordinating, and advocating for a comprehensive network of health and social services that promote independence and well-being.
Who we are
Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara has been serving our neighbors in Santa Barbara County since 1899. With our designation as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Planning and Service Area 17 in 2026, our focus on senior advocacy, services for older adults and caregivers, and program funding has widened to include our neighbors in San Luis Obispo County.
We work in partnership with community-based organizations, local governments, and volunteers to ensure that the needs of our aging population are met with compassion and efficiency.
